Reserve an explore pass by calling any library location or by speaking to a staff member during your next visit. When your pass is ready for checkout, you will receive a notification by text or email. Pick up your explore pass at the library. Present the pass at the attraction. Have fun!

Explore passes can be checked out for seven days. You will surrender your pass at the attraction upon entry. Don’t worry about the pass not making it back to the library; our attraction partners will hand deliver it to the library!

Explore passes are available to residents ages 16+, and you may check out two passes per year. Passes are not for repeat use by the same individual, family, organization, or group. If you lose an Explore Pass, there is a $10 replacement fee.

Monroe Science Center

The Monroe Science Center provides a hands-on learning experience for children and adults alike. Last entry of the day is 4 p.m. This Explore Pass may be used one time for up to four individuals. Pass must be surrendered upon entry.

Cane Creek Park

Address: 5213 Harkey Rd. Waxhaw, NC 28173
Hours: Sun. - Sat.: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Cane Creek Park is a family-oriented, water-based recreation space. This pass can be used one time for up to six individuals. Pass admits one vehicle and trailer and includes an activity pass. Activities, when available, include swimming, pedal boats, and miniature golf. Pass must be surrendered upon entry.

The Monroe Science Center pass is only available for pick up at the Main Library in Monroe. Cane Creek Park passes are available for pick up at all library locations. Once you are notified that your pass is available for pick up, you can visit the library to collect it. Please see a staff member to collect your pass as they are not placed on the holds shelf.
